RACT Tree Services (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information we collect

When you complete the enquiry form on this website, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address and telephone number
• The postcode of the property the work relates to
• The service you are enquiring about and your description of the work
• Your preferred contact method
• Any photographs you choose to attach

We also record a one-way encrypted form of your IP address and your browser’s user agent string. These are used solely to limit automated spam submissions.

Why we use it

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quotation, and — if you go ahead — to arrange and carry out the work. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services, and, once you accept a quotation, the performance of our contract with you.

Photographs of completed work

We may photograph work we carry out and publish those photographs in the gallery on this website or on our social media. Photographs are captioned by the type of work and a general location such as a town — never a full address. If you would prefer that photographs of your property are not published, tell us and we will not use them, or we will remove them on request.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your information. It is stored on our behalf by Supabase, our database and file storage provider, and the website is hosted by Vercel. Both act as processors under our instructions. We may share information with a subcontractor where they are carrying out part of the work for you, and with our insurer or a legal adviser where we are required to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to completed work are kept for six years, which is the period during which a claim could be brought and the period our accounting obligations require.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you sign in to the gallery administration area, a strictly necessary cookie is set to keep you signed in. No consent banner is required for that cookie.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@racttreeservices.com or on 07376942863.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
